Football Recap: Piedmont Picks Up 11th Consecutive Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Piedmont walked away with it. They blew past the Phil Campbell Bobcats 59-19 on Friday. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine games by more than 39 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Piedmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Mixson, who rushed for 79 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Mixson a new career-high. Jaxon Howard was another major influence, as he rushed for 33 yards and ran in a TD.

Piedmont's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece.

The win keeps Piedmont at an undefeated 11-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.6 points on average this season. As for Phil Campbell, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Piedmont will challenge Fyffe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Phil Campbell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
