Softball Game Preview: Staunton River Golden Eagles vs. Brookville Bees

The Staunton River Golden Eagles will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Brookville Bees at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Staunton River is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Brookville. Staunton River was the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Brookville on Wednesday.

Payton Evans made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Evans was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Kailynne Keister was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Payton Chewning, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Staunton River took their win against Brookville when the teams last played on Wednesday by a conclusive 13-3. Does Staunton River have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brookville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
