Western Sierra Collegiate Academy proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills Patriots 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy wouldn't go down easily and took John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills into a fifth set where they got it done with a 12-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-19, 25-9, 18-25, 15-3.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy can attribute much of their success to Adelyne Olvera, who had 14 assists and four digs.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. As for John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills, their defeat ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 19-9.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Westlake Charter on the 23rd. As for John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills, they will be playing at home against Foresthill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
