Volleyball Recap: Goshen's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Goshen waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Cincinnati Christian Cougars. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Goshen had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-22.

Danielle Trent paced Goshen's offense, picking up 17 kills. Trent got some help from Kristi Hardiman and her 23 assists. Macee Steele controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Despite the loss, Cincinnati Christian still got an impressive performance from Lydia Vogelgesang, who had ten digs and two assists. Vogelgesang is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played. Maleah Nkansah also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Goshen's record is now 13-5. As for Cincinnati Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Goshen has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Wilmington on the 30th. As for Cincinnati Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Seven Hills on the 27th.
