Volleyball Recap: Rachel Mcclellan Key Part of Team Effort in Vikings Win

Glendale's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Mount Union Trojans by a score of 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won six in a row.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 21-25, 25-21.

Glendale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rachel McClellan, who had 18 kills and ten digs. McClellan is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. Madilyn Skebeck was another key player, getting nine digs, six blocks, and five aces.

Glendale was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. They served six more aces than Mount Union's also-impressive total of 11.

Mount Union lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Harper McCormick, who had nine kills, five aces, and four digs. Another player making a difference was Tenly Huffnagle, who had 11 kills, six digs, and one block.

Glendale now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mount Union, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glendale will venture away from home to face off against Juniata Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mount Union, they will head out to challenge Southern Huntingdon County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
