Basketball Recap: Basha Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Basha lost to Casteel back in December of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Basha Bears came out on top against the Casteel Colts by a score of 68-65 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Basha found their leader in freshman Amira Reynolds, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Reynolds a new career-high in blocks (four). Grace Beckler was another key player, putting up eight points and 14 boards.

Basha's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 11-9. As for Casteel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

Basha will face off against Perry at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Casteel, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hamilton at 7:00 p.m.
