Basketball Recap: University's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Fairfax came into Monday's contest looking for another win against University, but Katty Noundjio wouldn't allow it. The University Wildcats walked away with a 32-23 victory over the Fairfax Lions on Monday thanks in part to Noundjio, who posted 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of University's points.

Fairfax lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brooklyn Petty-Wright, who scored 11 points and seven boards. What's more, Petty-Wright also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kadence Johnson, who had four points along with six rebounds and four blocks.

With the win, University broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-12. As for Fairfax, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

University didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-16 defeat against Westchester on the 29th. Fairfax has also already played their next matchup, a 56-51 victory against Venice on the 29th.
