Basketball Recap: Centennial Starts off Right with Win over David City

Centennial had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They snuck past the David City Scouts with a 35-30 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Broncos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Centennial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Owen Naber, who posted ten points and five assists. Those five assists gave Naber a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kade McFadden, who put up six points and 11 rebounds.

Despite the loss, David City still got an impressive performance from Diondrae Aerni, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 boards. Caelan Olson was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will venture away from home to square off against Louisville at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for David City, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Sandy Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
