Arvada West had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 21-point drubbing they dealt Golden on Friday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Demons with a sharp 79-58 victory. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 72-63 win the Demons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2021.

Arvada West got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Torres out in front who went 5-for-7 on his way to 17 points. Those 17 points gave Torres a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keegen Balistreri, who shot 54% from the field to rack up 21 points and seven boards.

Arvada West was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They racked up nine more assists than Golden's also-impressive total of 12.

Golden's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Nick Goodspeed, who went 8-for-19 en route to 24 points, and Zach Orser, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 13 points. The contest was Goodspeed's third in a row with at least 18 points.
