Dorman waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Lexington Wildcats as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Cavaliers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
One reason for the win was Dorman's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 25-16.
Their offense was headlined by Maggie Helle and Reese Shugart, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Ramsey Larke Chastain and her 27 assists. Mackenzie Maughon controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Dorman's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Lexington, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-8.
Coming up, Dorman will welcome Boiling Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lexington, they will head out to challenge Chapman at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
