Softball Recap: La Habra Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

La Habra extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 19-7 in the process. They came out on top against the Sonora Raiders by a score of 5-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-1 victory on Thursday.

Samantha Cervantes tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Eliana Corona was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

As for Sonora, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

On Sonora's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Piwowar, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. La Habra is set to face off against their familiar foe El Dorado at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Highlanders 2.7, the Golden Hawks 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Sonora will square off against rival Villa Park at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
