Basketball Game Preview: Southern Valley Eagles vs. Gibbon Buffaloes

The Southern Valley Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Gibbon Buffaloes at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Valley is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Southern Valley is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against South Loup on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Southern Valley lost 65-43 to South Loup. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-14.

Meanwhile, Gibbon came up short against Wood River on Tuesday, falling 71-48. The loss continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Gibbon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Southern Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.

Southern Valley strolled past Gibbon in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 66-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southern Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
