While Heritage put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Sequoyah. The Mountaineers blew past the Chiefs 11-0. The win continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won four in a row.

Gaven French made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hayden Sanders, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was William (Thomas) Bowers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Heritage's record now sits at 19-11. As for Sequoyah, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Heritage is set to square off against their familiar foe Lenoir City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sequoyah will challenge rival Loudon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
