On Saturday Oxford Academy's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Southlands Christian Eagles. The four-run effort marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Emily Ganguly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Danelia Paniagua, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniela Perez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Oxford Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Southlands Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Oxford Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-2 defeat against Trabuco Hills on the 1st. As for Southlands Christian, they will be playing at home against Rowland at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
