Softball Game Preview: Elberta Warriors vs. Baldwin County Tigers

Elberta hasn't had much luck against Baldwin County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Elberta Warriors will square off against the Baldwin County Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

Elberta is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They came up short against Thomasville, falling 12-1.

Addison Cranford made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Baldwin County had just enough and edged out Dothan 3-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won four in a row.

Madilyn Byrd looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Baldwin County's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Macey McKinley, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. Ryann Wallace also deserves some recognition as she stolen her first stolen base of the season.

Baldwin County pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs over those games. As for Elberta, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Elberta might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Baldwin County when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Elberta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
