Basketball Recap: Drayson Grathler Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Meridian

Eldorado lost to Meridian back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Eagles secured a 51-47 W over the Bobcats.

Eldorado got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Drayson Grathler out in front who posted 15 points and eight boards. Those eight rebounds gave Grathler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Jones, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.

Eldorado smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meridian only pulled down nine offensive rebounds.

Despite the loss, Meridian still got an impressive performance from Javionne Ranson, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 19 points. Makiyah Blankenship was another key player, putting up five points and eight rebounds.

Eldorado's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Meridian, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Eldorado will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Webber at 7:30 p.m. on the 9th. As for Meridian, they will challenge Lawrenceville at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
