Volleyball Recap: Mackay Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Mackay lost against Butte County back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Miners fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 2-1. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Mackay started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-8, 15-8.

Mackay's defeat ended a ten-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-4. As for Butte County, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2.

Coming up, Mackay will host Leadore at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Butte County, they will welcome Salmon on Tuesday.
