Basketball Recap: Mt. Diablo Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Mt. Diablo was the 40-18 winner over Campolindo when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mt. Diablo Red Devils fell to the Campolindo Cougars 46-41. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mt. Diablo's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nya Fano, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Fano a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalie Dance, who went 6 for 9 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Mt. Diablo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Mt. Diablo's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-7. As for Campolindo, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Mt. Diablo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-44 defeat against Clayton Valley Charter on the 10th. As for Campolindo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 33-25 victory against Miramonte on the 10th.
