Basketball Game Preview: Sacramento Waldorf Waves vs. Foresthill Wildfires

Sacramento Waldorf and Foresthill are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Sacramento Waldorf Waves will be playing at home against the Foresthill Wildfires at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Sacramento Waldorf sitting on 14 straight victories and Foresthill on three.

Foresthill better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Sacramento Waldorf really get things going. Sacramento Waldorf really took it to Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning for the full four quarters, racking up a 46-18 win. The Waves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Liam Mason Mellberg was his usual excellent self, putting up 17 points and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high. Malachi Miranda was another key player, posting six points in addition to 11 rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Foresthill didn't have too much trouble with Forest Lake Christian on Friday as they won 66-47.

Foresthill has also been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for Sacramento Waldorf, their victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2.

Sacramento Waldorf beat Foresthill 54-45 in their previous meeting on January 3rd. Will Sacramento Waldorf repeat their success, or does Foresthill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
