Volleyball Recap: George Washington Patriots vs. Huntington Highlanders

George Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Huntington Highlanders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Highlanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

George Washington actually scored more points across those five sets (103-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-20, 26-24, 17-25, 15-9.

Zo? Pray paced George Washington's offense, picking up 19 kills. Pray got some help from Julia Martino and her 27 assists. Abby Johns controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

George Washington's loss dropped their record down to 22-21-6. As for Huntington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-22-2 record this season.

George Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Huntington has already played their next contest (against Riverside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
