Softball Recap: Atlantic City's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Bridgeton last Wednesday, Atlantic City came back down to earth. The Vikings fell just short of the Oakcrest Falcons by a score of 9-7 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 last Wednesday.

Mia Marota made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Alaina Moore also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Atlantic City's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-3. As for Oakcrest, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Atlantic City is set to challenge their familiar foe Lower Cape May at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Oakcrest will face off against rival Cape May County Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
