Volleyball Recap: Homestead Highlanders vs. Menomonee Falls Phoenix

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Homestead can now relate to. They came up short against the Menomonee Falls Phoenix on Friday, falling 3-0. The Highlanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Phoenix apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Homestead was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23, 25-22.

William Gefke paced Homestead's offense, picking up 18 kills. Gefke got some help from Sean Contardi and his 32 assists.

Menomonee Falls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nate Kapp led the charge by getting 18 assists and five digs. That's the most digs Kapp has posted over his last five matches. Another player making a difference was Blake Gaar, who had 15 digs.
