Baseball Recap: Franklin Quakers vs. Cleveland Warriors
Franklin extended their losing streak to seven on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-15 in the process. They came up short against the Cleveland Warriors, falling 14-3. If the Quakers were looking for revenge after losing 11-5 to the Warriors when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Cleveland, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games.
For Cleveland's part, Quinn Renauer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Renauer a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Steven Rogosin was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Arlo Oetting, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI and one run.
