Football Recap: Fairbanks Comes Up Short

After flying high against Triad last Friday, Fairbanks came back down to earth. The Panthers were outmatched by the West Jefferson Roughriders and fell 49-6. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

West Jefferson's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braxton Vance, who picked up 142 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 36 yards and two TDs. Another passer making a difference was Austin Buescher, who threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns.

Fairbanks has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for West Jefferson, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

As of now, neither Fairbanks nor the Roughriders have any future games scheduled.
