Basketball Game Preview: Central City Value Jaguars vs. Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers

The Central City Value Jaguars will face off against the Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Central City Value will be strutting in after a win while Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences will be coming in after a defeat.

Central City Value is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Aspire Ollin for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-35 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Central City Value considering their 24-point performance the contest before.

Central City Value had a senior duo take command as Brandon Magdato posted 18 points and seven steals and Andy Lobos dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. Lobos also set a new season-high mark in steals with six. Another player making a difference was Nelson Carranza, who had nine points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Central City Value smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They had to suffer through an 81-40 loss at the hands of Verdugo Hills.

Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Central City Value, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Central City Value was dealt a bruising 88-41 defeat at the hands of Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
