Baseball Recap: Palmer Comes Up Short

Palmer had lost 12 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-14 to make it 13. They came up short against the Canon City Tigers, falling 12-0. If the Terrors were looking for revenge after losing 6-3 to the Tigers when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Canon City, their record now sits at 13-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

For Canon City's part, Edgardo Cubero was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cubero has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Conner Vernetti was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Peter Hershberger, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Canon City beat Palmer by a score of 20-0 on Thursday.
