Basketball Recap: Portage Northern Comes Up Short

Portage Northern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Joseph Bears. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 584th, while the Bears are ranked 116th).

Portage Northern's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for St. Joseph, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
