Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Hernando's Winning Streak

Hernando suffered their biggest loss since November 19, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 58-32 to the Nature Coast Tech Sharks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Leopards have suffered against the Sharks since January 15, 2021.

When it comes to explaining why Hernando lost, don't look at Joseph Rivera. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points and three steals. Rivera is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played.

With the loss, Hernando broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-4. As for Nature Coast Tech, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hernando will head out to square off against Springstead at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hernando is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season. As for Nature Coast Tech, they will square off against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Nature Coast Tech surely won't give up without a fight.
