Recap: Breaux Bridge Tigers vs. Assumption Mustangs
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Breaux Bridge Tigers can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 43-21 walloping at the hands of Assumption on Friday. The match was a 8-8 toss-up at halftime, but Breaux Bridge was blown out by Assumption in the second.
Breaux Bridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Kelby Hypolite, who threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Coddie Noel also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Breaux Bridge's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Assumption, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Breaux Bridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Assumption will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
