Volleyball Game Preview: Dyett Eagles vs. Chicago Vocational Cavaliers

The Dyett Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Chicago Vocational Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dyett has four straight victories, Chicago Vocational has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Dyett is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since September 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past South Shore International 2-1.

Dyett had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-13, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Chicago Vocational came up short against Bogan on Tuesday and fell 2-0.

Chicago Vocational was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-16, 27-25.

Dyett's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Chicago Vocational, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Dyett was able to grind out a solid win over Chicago Vocational in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
