Football Recap: Winnsboro Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four contests, Winnsboro finally came back down to earth on Friday. They were beaten by the Commerce Tigers 51-13. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Commerce's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidan Brown, who rushed for 100 yards and two scores, and also threw for 163 yards and one TD. Brown is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Malik Garcia was Brown's top target, picking up 89 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also punching in one score on the ground.

Having lost for the first time this season, Winnsboro fell to 4-1. As for Commerce, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Winnsboro is taking a road trip to challenge Mineola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will be up against the Yellowjackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Commerce, they will host Malakoff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
