Baseball Recap: Arroyo Valley Wins Going Away Against Miller

Arroyo Valley lost to Miller back in February of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Arroyo Valley Hawks put the hurt on the Miller Rebels with a sharp 12-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Jake Jimenez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out 13 over 5.2 innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Carlos Perez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Roy Reyes, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Arroyo Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miller struck out 14 times.

Arroyo Valley's record now sits at 2-0. As for Miller, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Arroyo Valley will be taking part in a tournament against Jurupa Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Miller, they will take on Rim of the World in a tournament on Saturday.
