Basketball Game Preview: Honey Grove Warriors vs. Sam Rayburn Rebels

The Honey Grove Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Sam Rayburn Rebels at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Honey Grove is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Celeste: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Honey Grove blew Celeste out of the water with a 61-32 final score. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Sam Rayburn beat Trenton 46-35 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Rebels have won by exactly 11 points.

Honey Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Sam Rayburn, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

Honey Grove won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February of 2024, slipping by Sam Rayburn 44-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Honey Grove since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
