Recap: Grovetown vs. Evans
While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, the Grovetown Warriors were not quite the Evans Knights's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 4-1 loss at the hands of the Knights. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Grovetown in their matchups with Evans: they've now lost three in a row.
Grovetown's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Evans, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season.
Grovetown will be playing in front of their home fans against Effingham County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Grovetown is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Georgia (they are ranked 114th, while Effingham County is ranked 243rd). As for Evans, they will head out on the road to square off against Glynn Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evans is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
