Baseball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-10. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roosevelt Roughriders. The Democrats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Roughriders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Geo C put in work no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

C wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was DJ Edwards, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That run marked the first that Edwards has scored this season. DJ G was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

As for Roosevelt, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-11 record. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On Roosevelt's side, Cal Hare and Quincy Jensen did most of the damage at the plate: Hare got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Jensen went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Jensen has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Milo Salomone, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

While Jefferson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
