Basketball Recap: Huss Comes Up Short on the Road Against Fort Mill

Huss kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell to the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets 52-46.

Huss' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Swann, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Swann has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleila Littlejohn, who posted 12 points.

Fort Mill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kate Marker out in front who put up 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most boards Marker has posted since back in December of 2023. Izzie Barber was another key player, going 5 of 11 on her way to 13 points.

The win made it two in a row for Fort Mill and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Huss wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-51 defeat against South Pointe on the 7th. As for Fort Mill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-39 loss against Gaffney on the 6th.
