St. Helena put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Willits Wolverines by a score of 28-20. For the Saints, this counts as revenge for the 20-14 win the Wolverines walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Jhony Covarrubias produced another solid effort rushing for 111 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 124 yards on six of 15 attempts. Those 111 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

St. Helena didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Willits to a completion percentage of just 45.8%. The team can thank Latif Basile for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for St. Helena; they were averaging 59.4%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three games they've fallen to only 59.4%.

St. Helena didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dean Sommer and Basile. Ben Brakesman was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks, making five total tackles, and defending one pass.

Willits' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ricky Britton, who picked up 134 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 43 yards. Another player making a difference was Corey Rockey, who threw for 215 yards and four touchdowns.

St. Helena's record now sits at 9-0. As for Willits, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2.

St. Helena didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 23-12 victory against Upper Lake on the 7th. As for Willits, they have also already played their next matchup, a 15-6 win against Fort Bragg on the 7th.
