Cardinal Gibbons was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Calvary Christian Academy on Friday. The Chiefs put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 10-3 victory. Considering the Chiefs have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Madison Leonard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Cardinal Gibbons let Morgan Beavers and Dakota Williams run wild.
