Softball Game Preview: Rocklin Thunder vs. Central Catholic Raiders

Rocklin is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Central Catholic is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Thunder will welcome the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last four games Rocklin has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Friday, Rocklin didn't have quite enough to beat Del Oro and fell 3-1. The Thunder have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Payton Prior was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Central Catholic made easy work of Mountain House on Thursday and carried off a 10-1 win. Considering the Raiders have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Rocklin's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.
