Softball Recap: Dundee-Crown Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Dundee-Crown extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 10-17. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Jacobs Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Chargers: when they faced off against the Eagles back in April, they had to take a 10-0 defeat.

Chloe Morrison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Dundee-Crown got a big performance out of Jordyn Jeffs, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kate Graham, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Dundee-Crown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in three consecutive games.

As for Jacobs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-17 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games.

On Jacobs' side, Emily Popilek made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run.
