Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Cougars vs. WISH Academy Owls
Hawthorne gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They came out on top against the WISH Academy Owls by a score of 55-43. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hawthorne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alfredo Ramirez, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jakobi Smith, who earned 13 points.
Hawthorne will be playing in front of their home fans against Torrance at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for WISH Academy, they will square off against Gertz-Ressler at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
