The Simla Cubs will square off against the Otis Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Simla is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
Simla took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over Evangel Christian Academy. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Logan Rayfield made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Simla is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Rayfield was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ty Stanko, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ethan Kissam, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Otis made easy work of Stratton on Monday and carried off a 10-2 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Simla, Otis also got a great game from a two-way player: Gavin Price. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Price has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
In other batting news, Emiliano Varela was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Malakye Reese was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Otis' victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Simla, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Simla has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Otis struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Simla got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Otis by a conclusive 15-6 score. Do the Cubs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
