Softball Recap: Alpena Takes a Loss

Alpena lost to Traverse City Central on Wednesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wildcats took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alpena's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Traverse City Central, the victory was the 21st in a row for them, bringing their record up to 30-2.

Alpena and Traverse City Central should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Wildcats (ranked 27th) will meet Marquette (ranked 92nd) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Traverse City Central will challenge Unionville-Sebewaing at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (6 vs. 104). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 2.6, the Patriots 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
