Football Recap: Wisner-Pilger Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Wisner-Pilger had won three straight at home, but on Friday they bumped up to 6-1 to make it four. They walked away with a 28-20 win over the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays. For the Gators, this counts as revenge for the 45-26 victory the Bluejays walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Jaxon Knoell threw for 46 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes. Jase Alexander was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards and one score.

As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-1 Pender (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 84.5% over those games).

Although Guardian Angels Central Catholic took the loss, they still got scores from Isaac Guenther, Ryder Anderson-Ray, and Timothy Gerrish.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wisner-Pilger will face off against Pender at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gators will need to watch out since the Pendragons have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, they will take on Tri County Northeast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bluejays will be up against the Wolfpack's rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.14 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
