Whiting suffers tenth straight loss on the road

Recap: Whiting Oilers vs. Marquette Catholic Blazers
The Whiting Oilers lost against the Marquette Catholic Blazers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Whiting took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marquette Catholic. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Whiting in their matchups with Marquette Catholic: they've now lost six in a row.
Whiting's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamron Patterson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Davenport, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Whiting dropped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Marquette Catholic, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Whiting will be playing in front of their home fans against Griffith at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Marquette Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Andrean at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
