Baseball Recap: Coeur D'alene Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Coeur d'Alene had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Lake City Timberwolves. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-1 on Saturday.

Tyler Kernkamp looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Coeur d'Alene let Beckett Larson and Blake Foulk run wild. Larson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Foulk went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Coeur d'Alene is 5-0-1 when Larson posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gavin Helms, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Coeur d'Alene kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Coeur d'Alene's victory bumped their record up to 7-5-1. As for Lake City, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
