Basketball Game Preview: Hannan Wildcats vs. Parkersburg Catholic Crusaders

The Hannan Wildcats will square off against the Parkersburg Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hannan is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Hannan is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Wahama last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hannan was beaten by Wahama 90-35. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Eli Cade, who posted eight points. Adam Dunn was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Parkersburg Catholic suffered their closest loss since January 5, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Tyler by a score of 63-61. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Like Parkersburg Catholic, they lost despite seeing results from several players. Preston Randolph led the charge by going 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points and three steals. Randolph is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leonardo DeAngelo, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points.

Hannan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Parkersburg Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Hannan hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56 points per game. However, it's not like Parkersburg Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 63.2 points.
