Football Game Preview: Wasco Tigers vs. Taft Wildcats

Two dominant backs in Hammie Lopez and Joe Weber are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Wasco Tigers will welcome the Taft Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Wasco's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups.

Wasco took a 21-point loss the last time they faced off against Kennedy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Tigers made off with a 55-54 win over the Thunderbirds.

Meanwhile, Taft came into Friday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Chavez on Friday, sneaking past 15-12.

Taft's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Fernando Guzman was the leader with two sacks.

Taft's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Wasco, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything came up roses for Wasco against Taft in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 53-14 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
