Basketball Game Preview: Louisburg Wildcats vs. Tonganoxie Chieftains

The Louisburg Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Tonganoxie Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, Louisburg took a blow against Ottawa, falling 66-35. The Wildcats have struggled against the Cyclones recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Tonganoxie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Bonner Springs, falling 71-46. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Braves are ranked 44th).

Tonganoxie's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12-1. As for Louisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11-1.

Everything came up roses for Louisburg against Tonganoxie in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 77-50 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Louisburg since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
