Basketball Game Preview: North Sevier Wolves vs. Manti Templars

North Sevier and Manti are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The North Sevier Wolves will finish 2024 at home by hosting the Manti Templars at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

North Sevier is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Enterprise on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. North Sevier was beaten by Enterprise 60-24. North Sevier was down 50-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Manti can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They took down Carbon 51-32.

Manti had a senior duo take command as June Olsen dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 boards and Cadee Alder went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points along with six assists and four steals. Olsen is becoming a predictor of Manti's success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is undefeated (and 1-6 when she doesn't).

Manti was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Manti's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-6. As for North Sevier, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
